Dharwad is an important city in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is actually known along with its twin city of Huballi. Dharwad has had a rich history and cultural heritage having been ruled by the Chalukyas, Bahmani Sultanate, Kingdom of Vijayanagar, Adil Shah, Aurangzeb, Shivaji, Bahadur Shah I, Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao, Hyder Ali, Tipu Sultan and finally the British.
